Innovative headteacher with a proven track record of school transformation. Skilled in educational leadership, leadership development and educational research. Currently headteacher of a growing primary school in London and studying for a doctorate in educational studies at the University of Sheffield.

Stephen Harris

Co-Teaching School Director

Stephen is currently the Executive Headteacher of three maintained primary schools in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.  The schools operate over five buildings and, in total, have over 2,000 pupils.  The partnership between the three schools is constantly evolving and is designed to share strengths whilst allowing individual schools to continue to thrive as their own institutions.  He is currently the joint lead of the Royal Greenwich Teaching School Alliance [RGTSA] and works with local schools to provide training opportunities for teachers and leaders at various stages of their careers.

Stephen works as a tutor and assessor for a number of leadership programmes including the NPQ programmes at the UCL Institute of Education and facilitating online modules.  Stephen has also attended a number of review panels at the Standards and Testing Agency to contribute to the development of primary school assessment.

The Royal Greenwich TSA wishes to reach out to as many schools in the Royal Borough of Greenwich as possible and involve them actively in our work.

There are two layers of membership within the Royal Greenwich TSA:

  • strategic partners who sit on the Executive Board;

  • strategic partners who play an active part in the Royal Greenwich TSA but do not sit on the Board;

If you are interested in becoming a non-Board strategic partner and your school can offer a substantial contribution in one or more of the areas cited below please email us at rsilcock@rgtsa.uk or headteacher@heronsgate.greenwich.sch.uk:

  • Research and Development

  • CPD, succession planning

  • School to school support

  • Initial Teacher Training (ITT)

We would like everyone to see the Royal Greenwich TSA as their Alliance, working in their best interests and for the children and families of Greenwich, and beyond.
