The Team

Ross Silcock

Co-Teaching School Director

Innovative headteacher with a proven track record of school transformation. Skilled in educational leadership, leadership development and educational research. Currently headteacher of a growing primary school in London and studying for a doctorate in educational studies at the University of Sheffield.

Steven Connors

Co-Teaching School Director

Steven has been a Headteacher since 1988 and in his career has worked for six local authorities, including two in London. He also has a Masters degree in Educational Research and Evaluation. His first Headship was in Hertfordshire where he opened a new primary school which grew to 500+ pupils and became an ‘outstanding’ school. He then moved to the Isle of Sheppey in Kent as the Executive Headteacher of a federation of two primary schools. He is currently the Executive Headteacher of Heronsgate Primary School in the Royal Borough of Greenwich as well as being the joint lead of the Royal Greenwich Teaching School Alliance [RGTSA]. Heronsgate is a large and popular multicultural Primary school with over 900 pupils on two sites in Thamesmead and Woolwich (rated by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in March 2019.)

He was one of the first Consultant Leaders appointed by the National College in 2002 and has worked on a wide variety of leadership and school improvement programmes as a facilitator. He was the lead facilitator for the British Council ‘Connecting Classrooms’ in Caracas Venezuela and also led leadership study tours to Australia, China, USA, Canada and Hungary as part of the International Placement for Headteachers programme. He had a two year part time secondment to the National College as a Regional Coordinator to their Leadership Network. He is currently a facilitator and facilitator trainer for UCL Institute of Education working on NPQML, NPQSL and NPQH and an Academic Associate on the Executive Leader and MBA programmes. He also serves on the Governance board of UCL IOE CoLab which oversees their leadership programmes.

Steven was appointed a National Leader of Education in 2011.

The Royal Greenwich TSA wishes to reach out to as many schools in the Royal Borough of Greenwich as possible and involve them actively in our work.

There are two layers of membership within the Royal Greenwich TSA:

  • strategic partners who sit on the Executive Board;

  • strategic partners who play an active part in the Royal Greenwich TSA but do not sit on the Board;
